The Scottish Government has unveiled a £30 million scheme to boost early cancer detection rates by 25%.
The Detect Cancer Early Implementation Plan will involve staff in radiography jobs as it aims to improve national screening programmes and raise public awareness of tests for cancer.
The scheme aims to save more than 300 lives a year through better detection, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Under the plans, those working in GP jobs will also be encouraged to promote earlier referral or investigation of patients who show signs of cancer.
The scheme will initially focus on the three most common cancers in the country - breast, bowel and lung cancer.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon first announced the draft plans for the scheme in March.
The proposals will now be considered in consultation with the NHS, clinicians, cancer charities and third sector groups.
